I’ve just heard that soon China will get new 10 and 50 RMB banknotes. So by then there will be 3 different ones… Confusing… Maybe because of all the counterfeits!? I already had an experience with a bad 50 note which 10 people refused to take since they could see that it was a fake. However, as I had to pay a lot of money one day I just gave it together with all the other 50s and 100s and the machine which the girl used to check the money with didn’t recognize my faked 50 one. Yep, maybe the machine was a fake, too…

Somebody else here who have had an experience with fake money?

Well, when I first experienced banking in China, I was quite uncertain of what to do, really. Luckily, I got some help from one of the staff members of my school. I've noticed that the bankers check the bottom of the notes, the image depicted and the bill number. If none of these appear, it's counterfeit.

I had a fake 50 RMB not, luckily after a few tries a taxi driver took it. Don't know if he got rid of it.
